A buddy of mine bought an 01 4x4 dually recently. It has an intermittent no start. It doesn't seem temperature related. Happens every week or so without any pattern. Sometimes on a cold start, sometimes after sitting only a short period. No codes at all, looked with efi live and gm tech tool. Looking through some searches, i need to check the wif/filter housing for leaks. Truck runs well, no power loss. 89,000 on the odometer with a fresh fuel filter. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

on edit.
When the truck doesn't start, it will eventually fire up after repeated crank attempts. Truck always cranks over......

I don't know what causes it, but try priming it once or twice. I've heard of a few that do that, but was given no explanation. I was told it was nothing terribly bad, but who knows. That's all I can tell you.

Had a big Cat doing that this summer, drove me nuts. Ended up tracing the fuel silenoid wire through the harness, and found a pin corroded in one of the big connectors. You'd think it cut out while running, but it never did.
