: Anyone useing the Edge EZ power modual?
Dmaxin 05-31-2005, 05:13 PM Finally got my gauges and already had an exhaust so now I am interested in getting a chip. Don't want to hurt the tranny so won't be throwing more than 70 to 80 hp at it. I have been looking at the Edge EZ because it looks to be just the right amount of power with a stock tranny. Anyone using the EZ box? Would I be better off getting a Predator or regualr Juice and just not dial up the power to much? Any info or insight would be greatly apreciated. Thanks

Ok, back on topic, from what I've heard, the edge EZ can still hurt your stock tranny if you really wanted too but for the most part it's a really nice addition to any d-max's interior mo-jo.

Newtorving 05-31-2005, 11:10 PM Funny you should ask about the EZ. I have one of these boxes and just got back from a trip to Del Rio,Tx from Boerne,Tx. Went up Interstate 10 to hwy. 41 to 377 to 277 to Rough Canyon Marina which is North of Del Rio. I have towed this trailer on a short portion of this route before the box so I know what hills it would down shift on.
I ran at 70 mph in cruise/tow haul. Only downshifted twice the entire trip. These hills were quick rising and I was not paying attention.
Anyway, max EGT were 1300 after a downshift, highest in 5th was 1275. Max boost was 25psi,also after downshift. In 5th,max boost was 20-22psi.
Mileage to Del rio was 9.8mpg. Return trip on same route was 8.1mpg. We came back Monday after a front had passed and was against a 20mph headwind.
I am very pleased with my EZ. It will make this truck scoot. I mainly got it for towing the trailer in sig. Travel weight is right at 8000lbs.
Truck is stock except for modified air box. As far as I can tell, the truck does not smoke anymore than stock.
:ro) ):h :D :muahaha:
sparks426 06-01-2005, 12:30 PM I just picked up one for my 04 lb7 CC D/A 4x4, and so far like it. I have yet to tow with it, but did go on a 350 mile round-trip this weekend on level 2. Typically I get 17-18 mpg on this trip, this time with the EZ I got a little over 20. This was with the cruise set at 80. Very happy about that. Have a modified air box and replaced the factory muffler with a flowmaster, and am running 265 tires. It definately gives the truck a different feeling. I have yet to tow with it (2000 lb truck camper and 5000 lb boat), but can't wait to see how it does now.
Gruber 06-01-2005, 12:59 PM I just installed the juice attitude and the Mike L tranny cooler. I know nothing about their EZ Juice but I can tell you that I love mine and all the functions the attitude provides. I plan on keeping this truck forever and I don't want to do the tranny or drag race so I'm staying out of the high levels and defuel all shifts. I was told "to roll into the throttle instead of punching it and I will have no problems". I just got back from a 1700 mile trip with lots of mtns up to 6800 ft at 16,400 lbs gross and cruised all of them only downshifted a couple of times.......:cool2:
Dmaxin 06-01-2005, 01:08 PM Thanks for the replies.:ro)
When you say it can still hurt the tranny, do you mean actually limp or just in time will wear down an alli. Not really interested in racing just would like more power to tow my trailer. Well, who am i kidding, I want to play alittle. Just don't want to destroy the rig. That's why i liked this box, it only goes to like 60 or 65hp on max setting.

Mark Craig 06-02-2005, 12:01 PM Dmaxin,
They have only been out for a month or so now but they have been very popular with our customers loking for a nice boost in HP but not wanting to go all out with a Juice/Attitude. So far everyone has been really happy with them. Call us if you need any help or have questions etc.
Mark @ DPPI
SAYWHAT 06-03-2005, 08:39 PM Am also looking to buy the Edge EZ for my LB7.Checked out Mark Craigs website but see the EZ is not offered for sale there, wonder how the folks that are happy with the EZ purchased them from him.See they are listed on the Kennedy web site.
Newtorving 06-09-2005, 06:36 PM After our trip in earlier post I filled up again and this tank had more normal usage of the truck. Mileage was 16.2mpg. Mainly stop and and go and short trips. It's amazing what your mileage does if you keep your foot out of the go pedal.
