moving to the exhaust/air section...

and you can probably get one from Mark Craig at DPPI, one of our vendors!

None of our vendors sell them as far as I know. Although I have heard someone on ebay sells them.

I donot believe anyone makes a muffler delete pipe. Just run down to a muffler shop that works on diesel trucks and I'm sure they can make one right on the truck. Now if your looking for a cat pipe we have them.

on edit: fixed spelling

MBRP makes a muffler delete, and several of the vendors that advertise here sell them. I know because I ordered one on Monday. :)

Now I know if I do a search I will come back with an answer to my question, but I wanted a quick answer instead of sifting through a ton of hits!

I am thinking of getting my kitty removed this weekend and replaced with a straight pipe. I currently have a 26" Magnaflow installed. Will I set codes or go into limp mode without installing a finger stick and blocker plate?

Yes you will set codes.

If you read there advertisement the muffler delete pipe is for there single exhaust kit only. It clearly states not for a stock exhaust or there dual kit. I guess I should have said not for a stock exhaust system.

Why? just out of curiousity, that seems to one of the first mods a diesel owner makes.

I guess not everyone is made of money like you are Big Angry. I think I had 50-60K on my truck before I put on the exhaust. Don't flame people just because they don't have an exhaust system on their truck. Some people have other priorities other than their truck!

 over!

Who the hell is flaming anyone other than you? You have obviously taken my comments out of context. What I meant by first was not the day you bring home your $40,000+ truck, but before you do other mods.
And judging by IdahoRob's sig, he has already sunk a lot more into his truck than I have mine.
Here is his list of mods since you obviously didn't take time to read it before you fired off your mouth at me.

Chevy lly, ccsb 4x4
Predator,
SD tie-rod sleeves, manifold
Propane
N20
SC converter/transgo,
13.91 at 101mph w/truck falling on it's face
Sounds like he has already dropped some serious loot, so I was curious with all these OBVIOUS power mods why he still ran a stock exhaust, no harm was meant, I was REALLY curious. Holy sh*t I love when people fly off the handle without any thought. Have a nice day.

Hey guys it's Friday, chill and have a beer. I have a mental budget that I'm trying to stay with. My wife was good enough to let me have some fun and I gave her a number that I'm trying to keep. I've tried get the most bang for the buck, and I don't think exhaust is worth it. With used lb7 down pipe and straight pipe cost is under $100.00

"just out of curiousity" doesn't sound like a flame to me, it sounds like a genuine question. Don't be so sensitive man.

OH REALLY? I guess you should go back and reread your first post! You said this before Idahorob even chimed in. You made a generalized statement not pertaining to anyone. So I guess you are the one flying off the handle trying to defend yourself. Whatever!

Hey rob, do it the cheap way like I did.. I just took a piece of tailpipe I got from a buddy that put mbrp on his truck and welded it in where my muffler was. Simple and cheap. Looks good too because it's the same pipe and the curved part fits perfect. It was the part near the flange where it curves and then curves again so it moves the pipe up, perfect to fit where the muffler comes in on the bottom and goes out on the top.

rolloffhill-notice the smiley big angry used? He isn't saying anything bad. He's just saying everyone generally changes exhaust eventually. It isn't anything to get all mad about.

We don't want to take this thread where posts will start getting deleted.

Whatever dude. You screwed up, but don't want to admit it. It's cool. I don't harbor any ill feelings. Usually on forums, when somebody put in smilies, (like the wink that you can see in my first post) it means something was said in a not serious manner. I am sorry you took it out of context. That is not how it was meant. However, you didn't quote my first post, you quoted the one that said "just out of curiousity". So that in turn, would indicate to most people that you had a problem with that post. Even IdahoRob didn't take offence.
Sorry again for whatever I did that set you off.
I am going to go have that beer now. :) (notice the use of smilie)

NO use waisting money here.
For you guys with the after market exhausts (01-04 models with no Cats). There is nothing wrong with the stock exhaust except maybe the muffler.
Did you replace your exhaust with a big after market Exhaust System to lower your ETs on the strip or just for the sound ? I have heard a few "big" systems and they sound good, but no better than my Flowmaster muffler (IMO).

Also, I have not seen anyone advertise any ET gains on the strip, that an extra 15 hp box can't duplicate. The extra 15 hp from a power box is cheap.

If you want lower EGTs then that is another issue, and BTW, I have not seen reported any issues with EGTs on the strip for the most part, especially in the 1/8th mile. The real fast guys may have a few issues.

If you do enough research, I think you will come to the same conclusions as others have experienced, that for the track, you need a truck running in the low 12s and faster before the stock exhaust pipes are a factor.

FTR, and I have said it before, I ran 600hp through a single 3" downpipe on my turbo Buick engine.

guys please. just looking for a muffler delete pipe. i would love to get a full exhaust but cant afford it right now. i thought this would be a good temporary till i had th money. no one in town can bend and weld a 3 1/2 pipe. everyone here can just do a 3 or 4 inch.

If they can do 4", have it made and neck the ends down to 3 1/2". Should work fine for what your asking. We make complete exhaust kits and I tell everyone the same thing....."If your buying it for a big power increase for get it. A good 4" exhaust will lower EGT's, add some power and make the engine work alittle easier, so it adds some life."

i used to have a couple sources for 3.5" muffler delete pipes, but none of the links work anymore. here is one listed on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7978497307&category=33633&sspagename=WDVW
