I am going to change my pinion seal today. Any advice or "be-sure-to-do's". I will check this thread before I start.

Use red loctite on pinion nut, helps to be able to check pinion bearing preload before nut removal to be sure you don't over tighten bearings, some just use impact on nut and stop when nut stops spinning easily... not too good

Definately count the threads prior to removal, I was one turn light on mine and *almost* trashed it, luckily I noticed a slight wobble of the pinion shaft and tightened it properly before ruining it. And I had marked the nut and shaft with a marker...count the threads also to be safe.
