Hey guys had a few questions about the turbo master. Last week I installed the turbo master along with a boost gauge. My question is. I can only get about 5psi of boost at WOT with a load on it. Im still getting a check engine light at or around 50-55 or so. But goes out if I step on it or let off. Still getting lots of black smoke . So I cranked the turbo master all the way down. Still no more boost. I have noticed a little oil in the front of the turbo. Is this bad? I have a 4 inch exhaust but still have the stock cross over pipe. Its f code 6.5 with about 80,000 thousand on it. And I love the truck. But still cant find the problem. Any Ideas? Ohh it’s a code 78 waste gate. And it seems the waste gate gets stuck some times. Time for a new turbo?
Thanks for the help Andy

Is a home made TM? Maybe you need a better spring?

As suggested above...
Also, make sure air filter is clean and there are no restrictions in the air intake. I would also check to make sure that your crossover is not leaking anywhere.

did you plug the wastegate vacuum line. how accurate is your boost gauge. did you install it prior to the t/m so you have an idea of accuracy for what people report as normal stock parameters for boost. I h2ad my boost gauge installed for a couple weeks before doing the t/m so I had an idea of accuracy as i didn't wanna install a t/m with a gauge that might not be accurate. something about my boost gauge having a made in china sticker. and does not a code 78 lead to defueling. Try moving the actuator by hand maybe its hanging up. Also might try wiring it shut

No i did not plug the vacume line. I just took off the stock Actuator and bolted on the turbo master. I guess i never thought of it. But i did put the gauge on and run it before i put the turbo master on. I had about 1 to 4 psi of boost. If i swing the waste gate arm back towards the cab it sticks. And i have to use a pair of vise grips to get it back. Sounds like i need a new waste gate. Is there a spring in there? How far should the arm move? What is wiring shut the waste gate going to do? And What way do i wire it?Towards the cab or the front of the truck? Im new at this so please bare with me.
Thanks Andy

The oil in the caulor of the turbo is normal. Mine does it so should everyone else's.

I believe it's to the front of the truck it's been awhile though. If you have good boost with it wired shut it will sow that your turbo is fine and may have problem somewhere else

Heath provides a ball to plug the existing turbo line tube.
