Dropped the front diff to change a leaking axle seal a couple weeks ago and now I am getting a terrible womp womp womp noise when slowing down I jacked up both sides and spun the tires the drivers side is making the noise I unhooked the CV shaft and spun the diff by hand it feels solid so I am thinking it is the half shaft. I have to make a 130 mile trip @ 4 am and was wondering if it would be bad to run with the shaft removed? will it hurt the wheel bearings?

NO the shafts hold the bearings together. Tried this on my half ton once, almost lost both wheels.

X2 you can take apart the shaf from the stub and stick the stub back in there to keep the pre load on the bearing.
