Im told the 6.2 and 6.5 were built by detroit, so is a duramax built by detroit?

I may have this all wrong, but I thought it was a jointly developed motor? (GM/Isuzu) If you look at the Isuzu engine line up (at least back when the dmax came out), they didn't have anything remotely like the dmax in their offerings (no aluminum heads, etc.).
