While most companies are looking for ways to offer less expensive alternatives, BMF is going the opposite direction- at least with this wheel...price? $1295 EACH! At least you know you won't see them on another truck at the supermarket.

1300 a wheel? Have you confirmed this elsewhere? You sure its not for the set of 4? Sorry but this doesn't seem right.

$1300 per wheel isn't out of line for high end stuff, but I sure hope to god it isn't the typical BMF china import stuff.

The true american made forged/cnc'd Welds were up near $800-1k each.

those are SICKKKK

1300 a wheel is too much though, though 500 a wheel could still be managable :naughty:

If this is the wheel I've read about then they're forged and all of the wheel surfaces are CNC machined so they are perfectly true. Then painted and they are cnc'ed again to machine off the paint for the two dimensional look. That is a lot of time to manufacture one wheel compared to a cast wheel not to mention... perfectly balanced, lightweight, and much stronger. Everyone complains about prices these days, you get what you pay for and these are superior to cast wheels. Have you ever looked at what forged Welds costed new or billet / 3pc wheels? Some start at 1500.00 and then add paint and a 2nd etching or machining process and they are above 1800-2000.00 ea. If price is a concern stay with a cast wheel.

They don't cost THAT much to make trust me, I worked in a place making rims for Bentley, BMW, and slew of other very high end cars. BUT they gotta make their money, and brand names drive up prices more than most people know.

No they don't cost THAT much to make, but there is a considerable cost difference when you start with a 200lb forged wheel blank and have 6 hours of CNC time per wheel it certainly drives up cost.

Beyond that, you're not counting the ancillary expenses in these things. How much did the engineers salary cost to design the wheel to meet the load requirements while being as light as possible. I guarantee those wheels are considerably lighter and stronger than a china cast unit.

They finally came back to the WELD quality we all miss. I have a set of 20x10 dune 8's and they are gorgeous! Beyond that, stupidly strong. When you see them next to a set of cast wheels it's painfully obvious where the extra money went.

Remember, final cost isn't just based on flat material expenses. The knowledge to build the best product is expensive ;)

Heck the 20" HRE's a friend of mine has on his Lambo were ~$10k, forged CNC centers with carbon fiber hoops. But they will hold 1500hp and weight a fraction of what the aluminum ones will.

No, didn't confirm with anyone else. But the guy was one of the two owners of the company.

They want them unobtainably priced. (Why do women want Louis Viuiton purses?) Part of the allure is that everyone ELSE knows what you paid for the wheels.

You're marketing to a demographic of people who customize $50k trucks with $10k suspension kits, $2k tires, etc. I don't think $5k for a set of wheels is anywhere near unobtanium.

But you're right, they aren't meant to be a mass market seller and if you don't see the value you're not the customer anyway.

Does lamborghini really care or try to justify their product value in a $450k murci to people who drive $40k camaros? ;)

It's all about your place on the money heirarchy.

If you want to get into STUPID money for wheels. Check out these 24" auto couture for the Phantom. some 1300 swarovski crystals per wheel.

~$30k for the set w/o stones, no rubber. ~$50k with stones

But daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam they look good on Mikes phantom.

Good point. I would have a hard time buying the BMFs at 1300 bucks a wheel, but they look pretty good.

hopefully bmf does change from its roots and turn into the new rbp

i like the old rbp designs alot more than the new designs the new designs are way to mainstream fo me

Those will be coming out soon and MSRP is $999.00. We will have to wait to see when the wheel hits the floors where we can get the price down to.

BMF is a off spring of WELD Racing and really WELD racing was leading the wheel industry for years until the cast started showing better luck on holding up to large loads. Really there are still true forged wheels and this is the market they are directing that wheel to. They don't think or feel they are going to set the world on fire but if they make enough to take care of the market that wants it then I feel they have a winner.

Bad a$$ looking wheel for sure!

To much for me and thats not including the rubber that goes around them. They do look nice. I couldn't even imagine, if some-one had those rims and they woke up the next day and their truck was sitting on blocks.

Those don't look like a $1300 wheel. That's way too much but some people will pay it. Last fall I took a friend to pick up his new ZR1. First drive was down the street to a tire store and a set of new trick wheels. Black. They cost more than $1200 apiece. Polished or anodized they'd look good. Being flat black, everything pretty much disappears and you can't really tell what they look like. I'd have kept the factory wheels.
