the crossbar and hoop are made of 1 5/8 roll bar tubing.
came out pretty nice, just a little extra insurance.

Cool deal, have you thought about adding one at the rear of the drive-shaft as well?

That looks sweet, I was thinking of something like that but in flat stock. IIRC by DHRA rules if you run 4x4, you need one on the front driveshaft also.

i dont plan to do any 4x4 racing so i dont think i'm gonna make one for the front.
i thought about using flat stock but liked the rigidity of the tubing.

Very clever and it turned out very nice.
It also looks like it adds a little more strength to the frame as well.
With your truck raised by the fram how much clearance does your shaft have?

there is 3/4" from the shaft to the cross bar with the wheels off the ground, when on the wheels there is 1" clearance to the bottom and 1 1/2" on the top and sides.

Required to run these when drag racing, if u-joint blows up, the driveshaft doesn't hit the track & possibly dig in & flip the truck.
