My dad has an '02 LB7.

This weekend, his truck started running rough, and smelled like diesel fuel. Checked the oil level, and he had diesel in the oil. I'm pretty sure that he's lost at least one injector, maybe multiples.

We didn't have that far to go, so we thought that we could limp it, if he paid attention to oil pressure. When it started dropping, we stopped.

However, when we stopped, the bottom side of his truck was COVERED with diesel fuel. Where is coming from?

It's at the dealer right now, and we should know more tomorrow, if they look at it.

Breather tube, right front corner of engine.
Make sure the dealer cleans all the fuel off the under side and recoats the frame. The fuel/oil will eat all the rustproofing off.

Well, I'm pretty sure that he should get all 8 injectors, since that's the current replaclement plan. We don't know about his pump yet.

He asked me if I thought that he they would have it done in a day or so. I told him it would be a little longer than that. :)

That makes sense. The passenger side has more fuel on it than the driver's side.

If you slide under the truck you will be able to see it. After the repairs are done don't be alarmed if it (the tube) never drys up. There will always be some (very little) residue since it is an open line to the crank.

Same thing happened to my truck with 149K on it. Dealer replaced all injector with new ones not rebuilds. I took the truck to a car wash and washed the under side a couple of times after getting it back to get rid of the diesel smell. Total cost to out of my pocket $0.00.

Same exact thing happened to me when my injectors failed. They replace all eight of my injectors as well as my pump. No problems since. (75,000 miles) with Nictane pre-OEM of course.
