: Lift questions ??

I'm trying to decide on what to do with my truck and would like some clarification on a few items. I would like to comfortably clear 285/70/17 on H2s or NNBS 17s.

As it sits now the tbars are cranked to level the truck and I have the Cognito idler and pitman supports, tie rod sleeves and longer Bilsteins from NorCal.

Option #1
Install the Cognito upper control arms, this would allow me to crank the tbars more and install small blocks in the rear to level the truck. If I understand correct the drawback to this is poor CV angles. How much extra lift would this provide, how would it effect the ride and would it clear the 285s ?

Option #2
Cognito 4" NTBD lift set low with 1.5" to 2" rear blocks or Deavers.

Any input appreciated.

#2 is my vote. I'm not a fan of sharp CV and upper ball joint angles.

My two cents

option 2 is always best but you should have no promblem the way the truck sits now.

If I was to leave the truck as is would the 285's clear ?

Is there any advantage to installing the Cognito UCAs other than being able to crank the Tbars more ?

I would go with option one and consider the UCA's they are not a must you just need a set of good shocks though. the only thing the UCA will do is keep the top a arm off the bump stop which you should have no problem with as is just make sure you can get a finger or two inbetween there. check my garage i have H2's and 285's with my bars cranked level nothing in the rear and clearance was fine. I also have the cognito 4 inch lift now and i just think that is alot of money to run 285's. let me know if you have any more questions.

you can make option number one work for you if budget is an issue. just need to remember to stay in the green zone when you crank the torsion bars.
