OK guys I need some input here. I'm on a budget here so I think I might have found an oppurtunity. I seem to remember I read a post about 27 pages back about someone retrofitting a duramax exhaust.
This guy I know has an '01 or '02 crewcab duramax that he just chipped and banks. Well he mentioned he still had the old exhaust. He says "take the pipes home and see if you can use them. If they work give me $100."
So it's 3" bent real smooth and stainless. I think I have plenty of length for my extended cab. But is there anything I need to know that would make this easier. Maybe buying that 3' downpipe? Or should I just give them back and buy the 4" system??

i have heard that the dmax exhaust works and that price aint bad but your still gonna want the 3" downpipe-most important of the whole exhaust. 4" is said to not have much difference in performance but sound is better. but the 4" can get pricey. then there is always 5" if your daring...
