OK, Have about 16,000 mi. on my truck... I check the fluids regularly and change my oil at 3,500 mi. and Allison Spin-on at every oil change(changed the Allison Sump Filter at 8,000mi. for the hell of it)... RUN AMSOIL FLUID THROUGHOUT!!!!

I check the fluid recently and it has around 8,000 mi. on it.. Looked Brownish!

I became worried and will be having an OIL Analysis done!! My driving style is Edge on Level 2 or Level 3, No Heavy towing heavyiest load may have been 6,000 lb. for 10 minutes on the farm!!!

SO, When i changed the SUMP Filter and replaced the 9-10 quarts from that as reccomended I figured that left 2-3 quarts int he Cooler and Torque Convertor and Lines. Today when researchign I learned the system was 22 quarts or so.. SO my 9-10 qu. of AMSOIL only filled about 1/3 of the fluid Capacity... That is probable why my oil appeared brownish after only a short bit... I am sure the SYNTHETIC and DINO aren't mixing well!!

SORRY its long!!! Just wanted to offer enough info. for ya'll to help ANALYSE!!!
Can You Techs. Help explain where all this fluid is being stored??????? And whats the best way to FLUSH, since 5-6 gallons of AMsoil TorquDrive isn't cheap!!!!

THANKS
WILL

http://www.amsoil.com/faqs/faq8.aspx has directions to flush system. I have used this method on a Jeep and a Town and Country van. I haven't done this on an Allison yet. The petroleum and amsoil are compatable fluids although at a 35-40% mix I wouldn't be looking for an extended drain interval. Also many shops have evacuation equipment and will allow you to supply your own fluid.
