I am going to try to replace my DMF and clutch since the small local dealership said they have never heard of HDs having a problem with the DMF and their clutch setups so I am SOL and left to fix it all my self. My truck is a Ext. cab LB and when I was looking under there it looks like I may have to drop the torsion bars and support toget the transfer case and trans out of it. Is this true? Just wanted to know before I got myself in a mess that I didn't have the right tools for. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome and also the rubber in my carrier bearing is bad is any of this warrentable? I had a inner tie rod and Idler arm replaced for just an $100 deductable at another dealer. They called it GMs goodwill warrenty. I asked the local dealership about covering these parts under this warrenty and they said no and that they were "wearable" parts and they had never heard of such a warrenty. I thought that the tie rod and arm would be consitered "wearable" parts as well and the other dealership I toke it to covered them without ?'s and my truck only has 65,000 and that is only 10,000 more miles than it had on it before when the other dear covered it. Sorry for the book but any help ya'll could offer would be of great help.:help2:

Flywheel is covered under the 5/100k warranty of the engine.

how do I get them to do that the guy told me he couldn't hear it rattle and I know it does it the most with the extra power from the chip. I took it off when I took it to he cause I didn't know what they would say if he found out it was chipped I know that I can hear the thing rattle and when I pull I can feel and see that clutch slipping when the tach raises and the speedo doesn't follow when pulling a trailer. The clutch pedel gets darn hard to when it slips. Should I bring the trailer up and show the guy there that it does rattle and slip or does the slipping have nothing to do with the flywheel. I had the vin checked on my truck and at 30,000 they had already replaced the flywheel once. My truck has 67,000 on it now and had 65,000 on it when I first brought it to their attention and it started slipping and rattling long before that but I thought that there was nothing I could do so I was going to wait as long as i could before I was going replace it and then I found out here that it could be warrentable so I think I kind of s(rewed myself by waiting.

The worn/slipping clutch is not warranty, only the flywheel. Try another dealer if you are not happy with the results from that one.
