i have a gmc 4500 and i was told the rapid fire would work in these trucks. went through to of them and never seen a difference in horse power. so bully dog sent me a replacement chip the dyno dominator. i installed it and seems to sorta work. problem is i'm not really sure what to expect out of it. got it to the recomeneded engine temp and turned it loose seemed to have alot of kick some smoke came out the exhaust for a second. shifted through the gears ok till it hit 3 gear then started to stutter and kinda bog down then picked up. i've read these need to learn the shifting and engine patterens. any one can tell me what i'm suppose to be experincing with this chip and how truck should act it would be greatly appreciated.

We just put a Predator on my buddy's 4500 CC rollback, made a huge difference, more power, his first tank of fuel on it had a big increase in mileage as well. It took a few days of driving/towing before the tranny adjusted. He didn't experience any stuttering/bogging that I know of.

I am happy with the Xcellerator from PPE. The truck runs like a different truck. Plus the speed limiter is removed. I just pulled my 5'er this weekend (17,500k) and the temps are a little high and had to be monitored all the time. I am going to put an exhaust on it real soon.

My buddy's 04 had the limiter on it, until Mr. Predator removed it.

My buddy could not get the speed limiter removed on his Medium Duty 4X4 Truck with his predator?????

Was able to remove speed limiter on 2500HD though....
Truck still goes only 75MPH:( with Predator but gets their quick.....:ro)

Was your buddies truck a 2wd?

I believe the 2wd trucks can go up to 85 mph from the factory before they cut, unless of course you order it with the 75mph option, it is only the 4X4 models that all cut at 75 MPH.....

Does anyone have a 4X4 C4500 or C5500 that goes faster than 75MPH from the factory?

Sorry for the confusion....:)

Most rollback's are usually 2 Wheel drive = 85MPH max top speed from GM......

Yes, I have a 4500 4x4 that goes faster. The Xcelerator from Pacific (ppe) removed the speed limiter. It's top speed now is 90.

I believe it is the only programmer that has successfully removed the speed limiter.

I am pretty certain that before the predator it would stop @ 75. I'll ask him again, but I am pretty sure. And yes, it is a 2wd.

Nope, it went to 85 before the predator, not 75.

Yea, I only zipped up then shut er down..... RPM were 3400. EGT about 1200

It is nice now as I can pass someone on the freeway who is cruzing at 72 and have enough to get by them. It sucked at 75 max...
