: Emissions Test after Pensacola Injectors

Last August I discovered, by way of low oil pressure, that I was getting diesel fuel into my oil. I knew right away that my truck finally needed a set of injectors at just under 130K miles. The truck was almost exactly 8 years old, as I bought it new in September 2001, so it was outside the GM injector warranty period.

I bought a set of Pensacola injectors and hired a local shop to install them (no time to tackle it myself).

Seat of the pants, the truck has run noticeably better since the day I picked it up from the shop. Smoother, quieter, and the power feels better than I ever remember it being.

Since then I've put about 4500 miles on it, the majority of that came on 3 road trips of about 1400 miles each pulling about 5K-7Klbs of trailer. Still running perfect nearly as I can tell.

Today I went to go get the Colorado diesel emissions test that they require yearly. The put it on a dyno in 3rd gear and run it full throttle under load and measure the opacity. The results were:

60 mph 02% OPACITY

50 mph 04% OPACITY

40mph 07% OPACITY

Zero Shift 00% OPACITY

Apparently the limit is 35% for each speed.

This validates my own perception that the truck is running like new since I got the Pensacola injectors.

The guy who did the test was astonished at how low the numbers were, particularly for a truck with this many miles.

I realize some people on here have reported bad results with Pensacola injectors. I'm not calling those results into question, I honestly have no idea what's going on. I can only speak for my own experience, the set I got are clearly working perfect.
