Is there an easy way to adapt an aftermarket amplifier to a stock bose premium sound system? And if so what would you recommend? I would like to try the H2 head unit and LUX amp but there doesn't seem to be enough stereos and amps to go around for all of us in ebay land. Perhaps there is something out there with a little more power to drive the stock speakers that is still economical.

Check with www.JPcustoms.com. They have all the adapters.

I would be wary of using an aftermarket amp with the Bose speakers. For one thing, the sub would not work because it is on a separate channel. However, the main reason is that the Bose speakers are very strange impedances and just proprietory design in general and dont work well with non-Bose amps.

The easiest would be to replace the entire system..... If you can aofrd to do that and if you will notice the difference... otherwise just leave it alone.... The system will only be as good as the weakest link.

i would replace the systems if you really want to do something. i don't think the stock speakers would sound good anyway.. you might be disappointed with the results if you just add the amp.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll leave well enough alone.
You can use a line level converter into any amp combo thru the back channel and get an adjustable sub amp (like Rockfords w/ Punch Base adp. knob). By then you'll be puttin speakers in either way. By the time it splits and goes thru an amp (or 3 in EQ like the Alpine which is best then split to multiples) you can drive 2) 5 1/4" 2) 6X9" 1 or 2) subs to whatever power you want up to 2200watts or so anyway. Still have factory redundent controls too...T

My buddy added two 8 inch bazzoka tubes and tied in to the stock sub. Didnt touch the rest of the speakers. Made a huge difference...You dont really hear him thumping downt the road but made the stock system sound alot better. He has the full bose system 2005 2500HD
