How does the 2" lift " green keys" affect the ride quality in the front end. I was also wondering how involved it is to install these keys. Will adjusting the torsion bars do the same thing? My truck definitely sits lower in the front than some of the other stock 4wd 2500's I have seen. I wonder what determines the ride height setting that the factory sets the truck at, or is it just in my head?

Just this weekend I gave my torsion bars 5 full turns. I too noticed that my truck sat raked and it was a little soft in the front end for my liking. Now the ride is MUCH better IMO and the truck sits level.

If you do tighten your torsion bars remember to mark your lights before you jack the truck up, and relevel them when you set it back down.
On a side note I ended up lifting mine 1.75" and the bolts are only halfway turned in, they were completely backed out when I started.

Chawnging the torsion bar keys gove you the same ride quality you have now. Turning up the torsion bars harshens the ride a little.

Changing the keys and cranking do the same thing, and both affect ride. The only difference is you can get a little more height with green keys. Either way you are simply stiffening the front suspension to achieve lift. There are a lot of threads on how to do it, get it aligned if you go up more than a half inch or so.

Mine had green keys from the factory so I went with white keys and got 2.5 inches and one hell of a stiff ride.

Is it ok to crank up the torsion bars with weight of truck on all four tires or is better to jack up frame in front to take truck weight off of componets?

After cranking up the torsion bars say five turns, will the truck align properly?

Jack it up when you crank the bars. I would get it aligned. Try a search for "green keys", there is a lot of info here.

No drag racing with green keys, just keep that in mind.
