This is in my wife's '01 Grand Prix GTP. The display does not work at all. Looking on ebay, i see they sell light bulbs for the display on the radio. Is this what i need or is the display actually shot? Is the bulb only for backlight at night? Thanks.

Shine a flashlight up close on one side while the unit is on. Can you read the display? Many of that vintage use 3 incandescent bulbs to illuminate the LCD display.

im just tossin this out there b/c alot of times ppl over look it, check the fuses!!!!! my cousins grand am kept losing the lights on his he tore it apart lookin, brought it over and changed the fuse haha it fixed it!!!!!
