: Where do I start?

Wife and I went fishing this afternoon....when we were leaving, after I started the pickup up, my ABS light came on, then SES, then BRAKE. The truck has done this before and usually a simple shut off and then restart will cure the problem (when it did it before I think it was just the ABS and Brake lights though). I was planning on shutting off and restarting like I had before but I wanted to get out of the pasture so I could do it when I shut the gate. Going out the gate is kind of steep for about 10 feet getting up onto the road. I noticed the truck was definately slipping when I went to go up the hill. I put it in N and coasted back a little bit, shut it off and turned it on again. Once again teh ABS SES and Brake lights came on but it went into gear and up the hill fine. Got out and shut the gate, put it in D and headed up the road. It seemed to be in limp mode. Put it in N (as I was coasting) and shut off and then turned on again. It ran then in 4th gear maybe right away, definately wouldnt go into overdrive...all the lights still on. Also noticed (because I tried turing it off and on MULTIPLE times on the way home) theese symptoms....

Speedometer does not work at all...on edge or the dash
If stuck in 1st gear my edge reads N for slip
If its in 4th? the edge slip reads 3173 or 3174
I have no Reverse
A couple of times on my restarts (from a stop) I could put it in D, truck would seem as if it was still in N, then D would flash and truck would put itself into N.
Also a couple of times I would put it into D and it would go for about 1 second and then seem to go right to N. (Pretty scary)

I checked my NSBU switch and it is a brown one.....
This tranny is my 2nd ATS now and was just installed 3K miles (about 2 months) ago.

Needless to say, my new wifey is NOT impressed....:(
Help please!!:help:

NSBU out of adjustment ????????? MAYBE ????????

Seems like way too many things and the fact the speedo is not working ........ check for loose connectors on the tranny or something that may be pinched under the truck.

Just a wild stab in the dark.......

Good Luck,

Thanks, anything helps at this point! I checked some of the easier connectors to get to (including the NSBU) and couldnt see anything wrong. I didnt actually unplug any and plug them back in...

Also wanted to ask if the Juice/Attitude could have anythign to do with it? I'm going to start by unpluggin it tomorrow and see what happens. Only reason I ask is because maybe 9 months ago right after a startup and put into gear if I touched the accelerator even a little bit it would rev and stop, over and over again until I let off. It would idle but ANY fuel and it would lurch. After shutting it off and restarting if I remember right it worked fine. Only reason I blame the juice is because I've heard others having problems with it before this, and the reason I brin it up now is because it did it again for the first time since then about 3 hours before this happened....
Just trying to give all the clues I can..
Thanks again everyone.

Check them all. I'm just guessing. Check all the fuses under the hood for sure.

Checked all the fuses and none were blown. Went back underneith and looked at ALL connections...found out that a connector in the wiring harness that comes out of the drivers side of the transfer case came apart. Must have run the speedo? Anyway, thanks again for the help!
Jason.
