After the kids watched this really neat show about Prevost Motorcoaches, all of sudden the ideas of "camping" have swelled. Although, you are livin' better in one of those $1 million buses, than at home, but anyway. . .
Back to the original question. What would be the Max RECOMMENDED combined weight that the 6.5 could handle in STOCK configuration? Looking down the road of a travel trailer camper to pull behind the ye ole' bus . . .
Thought I'd ask since the manual wasn't in the glovebox upon purchase.

If I remember right my owners manual says 14.5K GVW.

Is 14.5k the rating of what it can pull, or is it the "combined" weight of the vehicle and the trailer being towed?
Mack: I love those stories. I was with my old boss one time, when he got is F250 diesel plow truck stuck in a snow bank. 2wd Chevy pulled him out. Boss was die hard Ford fan. Not a good day. . . .

What the trucks can handle and are recommended to handle are two different things, and greatly depends on how the towed vehicle is equipped. My 94 & 95 6.5 STOCK 4X4 CC LWB SRW's regularly pulled a 43' enclosed gooseneck triple axle, triple brake, carhauler at GCVWs of 24,000 to 26,000, and once was weighed by the CHP at 29,950, just barely legal by tire ratings (load range E). GVW for the trailer was 18,000. Very safe, handled well, stopped very well, but would have liked more power.

Just came back from a 250 mile trip with my fifth wheel camper which wieghs 7863 on a scale. I am very satisfied with the performance of the truck but it is not stock.

Sorry that I didn't put down CGVW. I thought your question was for combined.
