no you cant do that with the banks systems. you can use efi live to delete the necessary codes.

You can get a Quadzilla S2 and use it just for the dpf delete. Then you continue to use the Banks tuning. I have many customers running this set-up.

Let me know if I can help.

Thanks Tyler

So your saying if I get a DPF delete pipe throw that on and then run EFI live and wipe the codes? ANybody try this

You use EFILive to modify the ECM tune to disable regen. If ever put it back on then you have to reprogram ECM to enable DPF.

So just to make sure when you change the ECM to a non stock ECM tune it is recorded that there was a change and the tune calibration value is recorded. So look at possible warranty lose.Brian

If you used EFILive you might as well get the DSP5 switch and have the ECM tuned for a DSP5 tune. You have 5 tune change on the fly. Many tuners can get you setup. EFILive Flashscan V2 cost $799. So if just using to disable the DPF not worth it. Cheaper to find an EFILive tuner to make the change for $99 license fee plus their labor. Other option is order a programmed ECM from one of the tuners that do that. Nick can help you out as well as others.

EFI is very costly.
Quadzilla is the best bang for the buck price wise for what you are looking for.
Unless money is no problem.

Ok gonna bring this bad boy, wayyyyyy back from the grave. Ive got a 2007.5 LMM and just bought the Six Gun with IQ from a member here. My truck is totally stock right now but I want to run a 4` MBRP straight pipe. Sooo what you guys are saying is that I need to buy the Quadzilla, use it to disable the regen.. etc. And then install the Six Gun with IQ? Who on here as done this? Not sure if there is a cheaper option, or how well this works, etc. Anyone?

The quadzilla is not the only programer that you can use with a dpf delete set up. Banks, as of now does not offer a programmer that let you go dpf delete. Honestly, if you dont want to lay down the money for efi live go with the PPE hot race +2 e.t. My set up is that programer and a 5 inch dpf delete exhuast and I love it.

Alright so I went ahead and bought a Quadzilla Stealth II to stack with the Banks. Anyone know the procedure here, do I have to keep it plugged in? Etc, etc.

Looking at either a MBRP 5' or the Magnaflow 5' prob gonna do the romoval of the stock exhaust/ installation of programmers, etc myself.

Just download the offroad race version that has the dpf delete off the quadzilla website. then plug the quad in, install the stock no dpf wait till its done then unplug the quad and install the Banks six-gun and have fun. I have done this and have had great success with it. It surprising smokes like crazy on the SL level. No one believes me when they see it that I am using the Banks. Goodluck and if you need help just ask. I will do what I can and the people on this site are very helpful as well.

ok, i want to dpf delete my truck, but dont have the money to spend on the complete set up to do so. so say i buy a quad s2 programmer and install it with my factory dpf filter still on my truck and wait until i have the money to buy the dpf delete exhaust,is that possible? Or do you have to do a delete before you can run any programmer? me and this dpf stuff dont get along...

10-25-2010, 07:53 PM
Yes you can run the quad with the dpf just don't update the quad for the no dpf version. I did that for a while myself. But I'm much happier with the deletes.:)

Ok is there a certain quad s2 to buy or do they all just come without the dpf delete updated on them?

kheims
10-25-2010, 08:09 PM
I think the quads all come with the tunning for the dpf. I believe the only way the get the no dpf version is to take the quad and update it with your computer off the quads internet site. The update is free.

Just a question... Why can't u just cut the filter out between the 2 sensors an put a pipe in it's place?

kheims
10-25-2010, 11:50 PM
Prolly because someday you may need to put the dpf back on the truck. For emissions reasons or if you trade the truck in it would prolly be better to have all the emissions on the truck. Thats why I wouldn't want to do that, but you can delete the dpf anyway you want. Just keep in mind they are expensive if you do that and need to put it back on. Hope that makes sence just my thoughts though.

Yeah my cousin owns a muffler shop ad he asked why it wouldn't be possible, I mean if i cut it out and put a pipe it wouldn't be nothing to put it back either way just welt it back in...?.? That's just a thought I had...

Can you confirm this 100% for me and PM me please!! I have a 2007 LMM and am going to buy everything today if this can be done. Will it ever switch back somehow and need to be redone? Also does any one wanna group buy on one quadzilla and just split the cost and ship it to each other to do this?
Thanks in advance for any response, please PM me too.

Waiting on quad s2 soon as that gets in i will look more into it. I leave for offshore Thursday so hopefully It will be before that

I'm gonna try the HP Tuners route and see if I can ditch the DPF that way first, rather than toss the money away on a Quadzilla that will be useless after one use. I will keep everyone updated on how it goes, will be a few weeks for me though, maybe a month.

ok so i updated my tuner for DPF delete, and for that little "freeze" up situation (quad s2) had. when i get in from offshore thursday we will be doing the delete, anything i should know before doing, any extra pointers? and once i delete the dpf i dont start the truck until i install the DPF delete part off my quad s2 correct? and another question is when i was updating to dpf delete on quadzillas website it said added level 7 135hp tune, plus turned level 1 stock into no DPF (delete)...if i do level one and put it on stock tune (level 1) with no DPf, how can i go back in to get to level 7? not familiar with much of this, all i know if that DPf has got to go!!!!

Justin9212

I also heard that if the truck is close to it's regen cycle there could be issues with the truck thinking it needs to but not having a DPF to do it. Anyone have any info on this?

Read about the Q2 communication lost shut downs and ECM stuck in limbo. I'd read real hard and choose PPE or EFI

so using the quad s2 is really a bad thing? i went with the quad s2 bc im just wanting to get rid of the DPF i dont really want to go extreme with it, just want some sound. i guess the cheap route isnt always the best way lol...explain more if you can colt49 about that issue if you can

There are lots of posts of S2 system lock up on communication stops. You are stuck and can't get it unlock. Your ECM is confused and truck won't start. It is not good. Go get a PPE or EFI and save your grief.

Locking up or freezing up is not just a Quad issue, it can happen with ALL tuners/programmers. Just that it seems it happens more often with Quad. From personal experience, my Quad would freeze up on the do not disturb screen. It became a way of life I dealt with, just unplugged from ODBII port and tried again. Sometimes it worked the 2nd time, sometimes it took 5 or 6 times to work. Just depended on the sun!:) Since having the Edge Race Evo now, it's never happened but one time and it was an update issue. So you should be fine, just live by one rule, DO NOT CHANGE TUNES IF NOT BY A COMPUTER YOU CAN UPDATE YOUR QUAD ON!!!!!:D Ask me how I know! Chris

The Sun and Moon positions in the solar system are to complicated for me when tuning my truck so I went with EFI and dyno'd it to get what I bought. No Ad BS on HP etc. just what I bought with printed outputs close enough for me to know my egts and boost readings at power levels and gears on load we simulated to get an idea. It worked out to be quite close actually when towing and keeping egts where I want. No mystery can tune can give you selective changes like EFI that proved true for me.

thanks chris, yeah it froze on me one time hen i was in last wednesday and i waitied about 20 mins and finally said oooooh wellll so i unplugged it gave it another shot then it worked the 2nd time. but i hope the quad will work fine for i am just for now wanting to delete that useless DPF filter and a little more power, once warranties completely up then we go big time, im no new man to tuning diesels, but this DPF stuff sure is a total different ball game, just honmestly looking for a cheap way to get rid of the filter for now until that warranties up and i think my quad will do just fine for the time being, your help and input is greatly much appreciated. thanks man
