In really hot weather, my Trippin mount wants to pop out of the overhead console because the plastic expands and the mount can't fit as tightly.
Does anybody else have this problem? The mount stays great in cooler weather. I absolutely love the mount, but I'm thinking about putting some silicone around it to help hold it in place. I want something that isn't permanent so that I can switch gauges, etc. when I need to.

Silicone should do it! I've never had this problem.

The weight of the gauges could certainly cause the mount to slip forward a little in hot weather, not to the point of falling out, but just not flush with the console correct? 1/8'' or so?
Probably just needs a little dab of something to hold it in place during hot weather or perhaps a strap across the back of the gauges to pick up one of the tabs of the console.
I recently made some revisions to both the Attitude and Gauge mounts that incorporate a couple of 1/4-20 threaded holes in the back of the mount. This was done for manufacturing purposes but could be used for securing into the console as well. These new versions are currently at Anodize and will begin shipping next week.
CoyoteKid,
Let me know if you would like to swap yours for this newer version. I'd be happy to. :D

Hey Tripp,
I really appreciate the offer, which is just one reason your mounts are superior to any others on the market! I get numerous compliments on how cool the mount is, even from total diesel neophytes such as my uncle who had to have me help him pump up his wheelbarrow tire. That's no bull****!
Anyway, I'll just put a dab of silicone in it and be happy. You're correct about just pushing the mount out about 1/4". The DiPricol gauges are quite a bit heavier than other 2 1/16" gauges on the market, so this could be part of the problem.
The other problem may be that GM's plastic molding isn't held to tolerances nearly as tight as your mounts. It's no biggie! Keep up the great work and excellent customer service. I send anyone who's interested to your website.

I used 3m molding tape -- that worked out really well for me....

Hey Tripp,
Fell in LUV with your overhead mounts... looks awesome! Now that I know HOW I'm going to mount my gagues, I still have to decide what gauges.
The limiting factor now will be what gauges will fit your MOUNT! Autometer, Dipricol, SPA?

Any 2 1/16" gauge will fit.
