I just recently had my truck (04.5 lly) reflash. I didn't have any problems with it the way it was just wanted the reflash done. Well my question is: I have it on the 90hp tune and I have notice that is alot harder to start now then before on the same tune. Before reflash it would turn over about 3 or 4 times and start, now you have to hard the key for about 20 secs for it to start. Is it because the reflash has increase the fuel pressure in stock specs and the quad has has increased it even higher causing it to put more fuel, making it harder to start. i do realize that the tuner redoes the the fuel mapping and all. I am thinking about taking tuner off and see if it still does it or not. Or do i need to send tuner back and get updated verison for reflash? Thanks in advance.

Odd, my motor won't crank 10 seconds before it automatically kills the starter.

Yeah, unload the tuner and see if it goes away. Usually hard starts are glowplug related.

I went and unloaded the programmer today and tried it but it still takes some cranking for it to start but not as much as with the programmer. I was thinkin it has something to do with the reflash since it didnt ever do this before. I am thinking about calling quadzillia and see if i can get a updated version even through i have only had the programmer since december of 04.

no i did not have the programmer on when they reflashed it. Because when i got it back i drove it a few days without it on just to see how it did just stock and i could tell a difference in it being stock.

i would take it back to the dealer if it still does it stock. that's not right.

I have had it stock for a day or so now and it is not as hard to start now, crank it for about a 1 to 2 secs and it fires up like its suppose to. i think i am going to call quadzilla and see it they have a updated version. btw i did change the fuel filter on it (parker intercetor) that should have not made a diff. should it?

IMO two seconds to start is a long time, and I have the quad. I would say my truck starts in the 1 second range. I never noticed any differences in the starting of the truck stock versus tuned. I haven't had any reflash though, just data for ya to compare to.

I called quadzillia today and told them about what it was doing and they told me to send it back to them for a update. so hopefully this will solve my problem. thanks for all the replys. i have learned alot from this website about the duramax.
