Newton Chevrolet in Chattanooga, Tennessee charges $69.24 for an oil change on Duramax engines. I'll change it myself next time!
Is this about what other Chevrolet/GMC dealers charge?

I never paid more that $45-50 and with a tire rotation it was less than $70.00 out the door........
I change my own oil/filters now..........WIX filters online are cheap and so is WALMART for DELEO 400 or Mobil 1300.......grab a Fumoto Valve and no mess on the oil changes either.

$ not a problem....time is for me!
Allison spin-on filter change is all I do at home....everything else at the dealer.

Chevy dealer in Dalton changes mine for free for lifetime. Just have to wait 7500 mile interval, or when the oil change light is on. They just started enforcing this issue, as I used to go in every 3000 miles and have it changed there.
By the way, what is the oil capacity when you change, including the filter? I may have to do my own before leaving to yellowstone.

DO it yourself -- it is simple. Even for me...

2 1/2 gallons. My 1st oil change was like >$30. Oil by the gallon at autozone and filter from our guys here.

Change it myself... That way I keep the used oil for my shop furnace (free heat). Dealers here charge $49.95 just for oil + filter change. Disposal, lube and tax not included. I can do it at home at my convenience for half that! Besides, I know it's done right.

But you did save yourself the strain of having to take the first oil filter off. I wonder if that gorilla still works at GM...

For 6.6L duramax use Amsoil 15w40 full synthetic in a 10 qt container part # AME-TP @ $40.70 and an SDF 52 oil filter @ $9.55. These are preferred customer prices.

Ohh yeah that gorilla still works there. I bought the wrong sized oil wrench and fought that filter for an hour. Ended up having to get a big C clamp in there to losen that thing.

Chassis lube, engine oil (Rotella) and filter--40 bucks and some change. Do it every 5K miles. For that amount I'm not crawlin' around underneath the thing. Always standby to insure the tech hits all the zerks and that the correct oil is used.
