My almost completly stock 02 8.1L is running what seems to be too high of EGT's. I just got the guage hooked up, and on Cruise on a level road at 55mph, it sets on about 1200-1300, isn't that INSANELY hot??? I think I could max it out on a hard uphill pull, which would be 1600. All I have is 60# injectors for when the turbo goes on. Maybe its normal, It just makes me wander.
And the sensor is about 16 inches from the manifold and I got a 180* thermostat

How close is it to the convertor? Your probe needs to be as close to the exhaust valve as possible for accurate readings. That is too hot and most likely is convertor heat. When I ran a EGT on a supercharged car I found the same thing as the convertors were right under the manifolds. When I gutted them it worked as expected.
