I have 1993 chevy 2500 6.5 4x4 with 480le. The tranny was rebuilt about a year ago and has not been driven much at all. It has about 2000 miles on it.
Now that I'm driving every day I noticed it looses od. when I park it for a bit or pull over and cycle the key it goes away and shifts great. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I got a code 22. I don't have a scanner but I used the old paper clip method.

Throttle position sensor is out of adjustment. It is this Throttle position sensor that helps determine line pressure for the transmission. Wierd and unstable shifting patterns can happen with a misadjusted TPS.

How Do I adjust it will I need a scan tool to do it.
Thanks Again

No scan tool.
You have pin A which is live 5 volts from the computer going into the TPS at the injector pump (the throttle shaft)
You have pin B which is variable resisted and tells the computer where your foot is on the fuel pedal.
You have pin C which is ground.
Disconnect the three pin connector and verify the five volt pin and the ground. From there you can determine the pin which is B.
Set the multimeter on ohms and get a reading at the TPS with the throttle on idle and the engine shut off. This reading is your baseline.
Connect the wiring harness and at idle position check pin B and ground.
Chances are the voltage is lower than it needs to be.
There are two bolts holding the TPS. Loosen them slightly enough to move the TPS rearward. Adjust the TPS to where the setting from pin B will read .5 volts with the ignition on and tighten down the two bolts. No running of the truck is necessary.
Disconnect the batteries for a minute or two. Reconnect the batteries and drive the truck around a bit. Back at the garage shut the truck down and recheck for codes.
DTC 22 should dissapear.
