I just realized that i never posted up a "new guy" post here. I signed up here to learn about the 6.5L thats in my newly aquired truck but just jumped right into the question asking instead of a propper introduction.

So, here it goes. I just bought (from DP member papa_jon) a 1996 K3500 dually with the 6.5L, auto. Its got a few mods done to it and i'm currently trying to get it to run right. I bought it to be my DD and tow rig for my 99 Jeep XJ trail jeep. I'm selling my 89 4Runner to pay for this truck and will miss that little toyota.

Thanks for all the help you guys in the 6.5L section. You have already helped in many ways and from the looks of it, i'll be bugging you guys for more info as the days go on.

Here she is: I have since then removed the swirly blue paint and will be getting a whole new paint job soon. Planning on painting the camper too even though its not a perfect fit. It will only be used when towing my jeep so i've got a place to sleep that isn't on the ground.

Looks good man, I'm sure that will pull the trail jeep no problem. How are those 6.5L I've never driven one before?

Its not too bad. I havn't pulled anything yet but it seems to have plenty of power. I'm used to towing the jeep with my dads super duty with 7.4L so i know it won't pull quite as good as it did but it should do the job.
