Welcome Jeulum.
Exhaust won't void your warranty. Air intake I am not sure about, anymore.

Chip........HELL YA, if dealer finds out about it.

For performance modual/programmers -allot of people around here like the Edge Products Juice with Attitude Monitor. Check out the Electronics section ( I think). There will be allot of info. You can also do a SEARCH on this forum for a Juice with Attitude.

One thing to watch out for is when doing a performance upgrade, be mindfull of your transmission. Too much of a heavy foot in the higher settings and your trans will start to slip.

Good luck, and happy reading.

A cat-back exhaust is a dealer friendly upgrade. And if u get a tuner just dont let the dealer know about it. If u take the truck to the dealer for a problem just unplug the tuner and dont leave any sighns of it.

Congrats on the truck and welcome to the DP Family. Ditto what others have posted. Some dealers are tuner friendly, others are not. You might want to scope things out at your dealership to see who you are dealing with. ;)

Plenty of good intel on the Power and Performance forum as far as tuners, exhaust, air intakes, etc. Air intakes don't appear to give the most bang for the buck, a free flowing exhaust is a good investment. Predator and E/J seem to be the most popular with these trucks, though Hyptertech and Bully Dog have their advocates as well. I opted for the E/J w/attitude for EGT and tranny protection while towing. :exactly:

Good luck and happy shopping! Please support our vendors since they pay the bills. Later. JJ :)

I am about to become a first time Diesel Owner at the end of June and wonder what special care is need on Diesel from fueling to oil change intervials. Have owned a 6.0 gasers for the past 4 years making the move and can't wait just want to know if I have any suprises in stor.

NuDiesel; oil change interval is 8,000 KLMs for severe service. Regular driving (According to owners manual) is 12,000 KLMs. How anyone can drive like a regular is beyond me (stop and go, towing, lots of idling, short trips.....).

Good "clean" fuel. No water, high turnover of fuel at a gas station. Change filter every 20,000 KLMs or a little less.

Above info applies to my '02. Should be comparable to yours.......

Thanks for the reply. I can't wait to get the truck and start my DMax experience. Have you had any issues with Overheating like I have been reading about? I will pull a 5th wheel weighing around 10K loaded.

None, what so ever. Just moved out here, about a month ago, towing the fifth wheel.

Welcome here and congrats on your purchase. I'm the spoil sport when it comes to any vehicle mods. Leave her stock, drive her nicely, keep her fluids and filters clean and she'll be your best friend and you'll save some bucks too.

Just get the GM extended waranty stay stock, and enjoy. Unless you have all kinds of money and time to waist fighting the dealers, as indicated in many of the posts, pretty well everyone has problems at one time or another, but those with mods have more.

enjoy and good luck.

Thanks guys just got back in town. I don't have the boat loads of cash for all those MODS I keep reading about I intend to stay stock, although I would like to have a EGT gauge, but will now sink a ton of money to get it. Already purchased the Entened warranty. Will likely add a tool box and cover for the box but that will be about the extent of the MODS I will be doing the wife will kill me if I sink in much more. As it is the truck has a price tag of 64K.

Ditto h8nopi! Yikes!
That price had to include tax, registration, destination charges, ext. warrantee, stealer fees etc. etc. etc.!
Check with your dealers service center. Some service centers aren't 'aftermarket parts friendly' unless the aftermarket parts were installed by 'them' and sold to you by 'them'.
My dealers service center gave me all kinds of grief for the aftermarket parts (none of which were performance upgrades at the time). To heck with 'em. I've elected to take my rig to a privately owned service center that honors my GM extended warranty for maintenance since.
Best of luck to you and congratulations!

Yes this is Canadian dollars. Everything seems to be much more costly up here. The price before our 15% tax was $63,755.00.
