I changed oil in my 06 6.0L the other day, the oil change reminder had not come on yet, oil only had 1800 miles on it but was almost 5 months old so I changed it.
Question is, if I do the reset will it start the count over,,,since the reminder never came up?

I've found that my oil change light comes on at about 8000 miles... I change oil at 5000 (Mobil 1 10W30)... I just reset the OCL when I change oil, only to keep it from coming on unexpectedly...

the gm oil life is really a joke. dont even mess with it until it comes on then just reset it.
