Its sort of the same thing with outboard starters and trim motors. If you go to the dealer, then they rape you on the price, but the company I work for gets the same exact OEM hitatchi starters for less than half the cost.

You ought to price a starter for a Honda outboard motor!!!!

Hey Mackin, if you get a new one from ebay let me know what you think. What is going on that you need a new one anyways?

Unfortunately one of the studs got broken on the solenoid. The solenoid is a hundred bucks,on order.I don't think that there is any problem with these gear reduced starters.
I just think but if I had a problem say one day and I needed one,I wouldn't want to pay dealer cost if they were the only one to have.I haven't checked aftermarket yet, other than.

I bought one of E-bay for a spare,I'll check it out when it arrives although

So you can't drive your truck until you get the solenoid?

That would be, :exactly:

Didn't matter as they got started late and I don't want ANYTHING rushed or overlooked.Needs Drivshafts ,some misc buttoning up and a fill and of course a solenoid. So I've been told , I haven't seen it yet,by my photographer.Oh well

Tuesday will be the most fun I have had in a month, besides I'll be there for the start up :)

On Edit: The majority of the Co-Pilot is installed just need to select a spot for the controller and switch.

I would love if someone would take pics of the process of getting the torque convertor bolts off. I tried it once.... looks like it takes two people.

Since I am the photographer it's actually and easy process...........a large socket or wrench on the balacer bolt to roll the motor over...........one flexplate hole is an alignment hole for the TC, the others will drop right in there spots after the starter hole is tightened down........once around with the big wrench and it's done........the only thing that is a PITA is if you drop one of them in the bell housing......... , but a little magnetic tip or some patience is all the mechanic needs.........the guy working on MAC's tranny is the same guy that R & R'd mine..........he is very thorough and meticulous,

Princess is in good hands..........;)

With two people it's simple and quick.I'd like to see how a one guy with two arms does it too.Prying on the Flywheel isn't me :o:
