I just ordered a Wester's custom tune computer. Dyno at 230 rear wheel hp and 470 foot pounds of torque. Just wondering if any ones heard of them or if the dyno numbers are good.

I havn't heard of alot of diesel guys using them, but the guys that put them in there gas motors say its the best money they have ever spent. Head over to www.chevytruckworld.com and do a search for Westers. Tons of people have them and are very satisfied. They are getting better milage,hp and overall performance.

will be going to the track on friday, my gtech is showing 13.5 last night and my weight is around the 7800lbs, hope to lose a bit of weigh for track day, one thing with the version i am running now there is no smoke at all with just his tune, great for towing and such, no soot to worry about on your trailer, turn the lp on and it smokes good, so it looks he has the right amount of fuel for the stock turbo, he will be at the track as well and is bring a few others to try out, keep you informed

Stack away with the edge, should be good for 500 or better..............it also stacks very very well with the big VA and injectors :muahaha: and turbo ):h

Can you tow with the westers big tune? I would be worried about EGTs.

like towing with any large program or stack, one must have gauges and know their limitations, on large grades common sense must be used, i keep it under 1400degrees since i have seen my stock truck make a maximum of 1350 degress, i sure like the way their is no downshifting with the large tunes, over the smaller ones

I tow with the edge on level 5 but just watch my temps. If they creep up then I back off the throttle or power level. I wasnt sure about westers. Thanks

Some stacks work better than others. Play with the different levels of the juice and make sure its egt defueling is off. change power levels and low boost fueling. Also do you have a clean fuel filter min or lift pump?

Its also not really worth comparing dyno numbers to what other trucks do. A dyno can be usefull to see how differnt things affect your truck(like what level works best stacking ect) I have dynoed 40 or so HP lower on a different dyno a week after I ran better. same truck and it ran the same. Track times are the real way to show power.

433hp 866 ft.lb just the westers, and 460hp 933 ft.lb with the hot juice on four that was the best level i found. It was on GCL mustang dyno in edmonton.. I ran my truck on that dyno before with a Quad 215hp and the hot juice on level five and pull 442hp 813 ft.lb

if its still a stock tranny, its not going to put out the big numbers your looking for. its just going to slip to much.
