ok guys this pump has got me i just bought a new lift pump....installed it and opened the drain t and the top of the fuel filter...no fuel came out...so i checked the pump to see if it works by using a 12v battery ....it works....then checked to see if the wires coming from the truck had power....they do...so i said mabe its the connector....i cut off the connectors and hard wired them together.....tested at both spots again and no fuel came out...only my truck died....im totaly confused any thoughts???

yea but the thing is.....the wires are getting power so shouldnt it be working or what does it work by PFM???

What condition when the fuel comes out? cranking or running?

it running but the fuel doesnt come out......but thanks to wordtoyourmom i did do a search...it may be the ops not workin right so ill try replacing that...but what if i just hardwired it to run as soon as i turned on the key?

If that is the condition, OPS is out.

Get an ACDelco OPS.

You can put a relay, you can search that also.

Safety factor to have it wired that way.:eek:
When you said you have power to it.
Did you check with a meter for 12 v while the truck was running with the load/pump still in line? Also did you check the same way for ground?

A circuit can very easily show 12v and a good ground untill the load is applied...

like jess sr wrote, enough for volts or test light. replace OPS and look in to adding relay.

no i didnt do it with the pump plugged in....i got a new ops today i will replace tomorrow
