Yeah that has been somewhat of an issue already but they are workin on a getting a diesel class together I think.That would be great!

He is only allowed to run a single charger, while makin plenty of boost egt's would still reach 2200 F. After a couple of heat related engine failures and some innovative thinkin he has gotten everything balanced out to maintain hp, keep egt's to acceptable levels and make a 5.9 cummins think it is a big block gasser. He has truely done some pioneering with this mud truck and this sport. Give er hell Chester!!!

I would love to have my old girl run like that ...... that cummins kicks some serious ass there in that chevy .

Been wanting to do a conversion for many years . Many want me to do the cummins in it but I have been holding out wanting to do a dmax in her . With a built 454 in her still she hauls ass but after driving a diesel for last 5 years I get in the old truck and it just isnt the same without all the torque of the diesel . My dream is 4 paddles on her and a diesel for Glamis Dunes . Someday I hope to get to the project . I guess maybe I should consider the cummins after seeing this vid . :D

Chesters truck is sick . Seeing it smoke the gassers in kick ass . My guess would have been at least 2200 degs area with all that fuel and HP. Hell in the vid you can see solid flames out the stack coming off the corner in the in truck part . Hell ya ..... how could you not fall in love with that truck . When they hit the muddy water you can see it drags the gassers down a bit but the diesel just blazes through like its not even there .

That is exactly what I want to do. That same model truck with a full built d-max! I am like you I just can't go back to a gasser I just don't have the time though!

Johnny you GOTTA put a d-max in ur old truck that would be a perfect match! That is one of the cleanest old trucks i have ever seen! If you are serious about that swap and you want a tranny that will hold up to the abuse, gimme a holler all the trucks in those vids are running custom powerglides built by my cousin and they have been bullet proof and not nearly as expensive as a built ally.

Thanks brother , I will keep that in mind . I have half a motor dmax already and just need to round up the rest of the parts . ..... crank , cam and rest of hardware . Pans valve covers .... basically everything . Should have just posted I have a block and bare heads so far . Just this damn economy is rough and been putting a damper on the project and getting a motor for it done . Keep seeing sweet deals on motors too , and keep having to pass them up . Alot of complete motors and trans been up for sale lately ..... figures .

I know where a mid 80's model truck is just like chesters with 4 link suspension, roll cage, trans everything but the motor for a steal and i can't pull the trigger on it, but maybe someday!
