So i was coming home tonight and found a bit of a straight away and decided to roll on it a bit, since moving to the big city she doesn't get the run she used too. So i rolled into a pretty good take off in 2nd and when i hit the top end it didn't feel as though there was near the power there has been. Almost felt like it kinda like the power just leveled off...then slowed down and turned into the alley and went to slowly accelerate and heard a pretty good rattle/knock. Never heard it that loud. So i stopped and started going again and it didn't seem to do it again but lately i have been noticing the Dmax is a TINY bit nosier than it has been in the past...almost like an older diesel noise but not bad...Sorry guys but i'm paranoid about my baby. Any ideas?? Truck has got 180 000kms on it.

how long has that fuel filter been on there? a dirty fuel filter will make it fall flat on power at the top end and then possibly starve for fuel and make it knock.

I changed the filter at about 135000kms the computer says I have 15% left perhaps a good time to change it?

Anything below 25% according to the DIC and its time for a change. If you've had the filter on there for what to me looks like 40K kms, way over due IMO. I do about ten to twenty KM max on a filter change depending on season driving type of fuel etc.
