Hey guys, I have a superwinch s-3500, it about 2 years old and never used. I lost the directions to mount it, now its going on a trailer for my race car, not my truck. It looks like there are 2 holes beneath the cable and spool. These seem to be the only mounting holes i can think of. I was going to make a steel bracket for the winch to sit in and another steel backing plate to go beneath the trailer and weld that to the frame so its going to be rigid. So, are these 2 holes the correct mounting places? I cant think of any others, I tried to contact superwinch but they are closed till tuesday for the holiday and i was going to mount this tomorrow. So i figured the off-road guys would be the right ones to ask about a winch. Thanks.

Post some pictures of it. Being such a small winch, I would say so. Normally though, there are at least 4 holes for mounting. Are they threaded holes or pass throughs? Let me know.

i dont have any pics available, when its on its side, there are only 2 holes and they are under the cable spool, there are none on the side of the motor. so you got me, nothing else came with it other than some elec. hookups and a switch. the holes are not threaded

My best suggestion would be to just try it. Put it under load a few times with a very watchful eye. You should be able to tell rather quickly before breakage occurs. Are the holes in a substantial amount of steel? As you stated earlier, you have probably already tried something, so I hope your results were desireable!

well, havent gotten around to installing yet, too much beer yesterday, anyways, the holes are in probably 1/2-5/8 inch thick steel, i'll try that and i guess we'll see if it works. thanks for your help.
