2006 LBZ 2500HD w/50K just failed state inspection due because the power booster seapage/leak. The power steering resevoir was only down slightly, wouldn't even refill at this point. Seems there is a going number of us having this issue. Is there a recall, is it a real issue or just minor seapage? They want $800 to replace and to me if they are failing early at the rate I suspect the manufacturer should cover the repair. Any insight would be helpful.

Mine's been leaking ever since I bought my truck(coming up on 2yrs now), right at the accumulator. Of course the dealer doesnt sell the $0.50 O-ring that seals it.

You could add some power steering fluid with stop leak in it. They have it at most auto parts stores.

If its an o-ring, most parts stores have o-ring kits with a variety of o-rings or go to a hydraulic repair shop , Cat, John Deere , Komatsu, Volvo equipment. Some one should have the proper size o-ring. Beats spending $800.00. Charlie

I just had to have the hoses to/from the hydroboost replaced, $400 at the dealer. If I could have found the leak, I would have done them myself. I never saw any fluid spray.

My apologies for not posting directly. Took the truck to the dealer for second opinion. Mechs ruled typical seapage, no tech bulletin or recalls and passed the state inspection. I'm going to keep my eye on it and next time clean the engine compartment before letting anyone under the hood.
