I was just wondering if their was a plug in tuner that could change some of the parameters on the truck without changing anything in the ECM as the General willl not warranty your new trucks if their are any changes or power adders recognizable on your ECM.
I was thinking this would be the same as an Edge EZ as they use to have in the past.
Thanks Guys

They can get readings from the torque tables and see the power has been increased. There is really no way to hide a tuner from the dealer. Some methods just require them to dig deeper.

If they want to find out, I believe they can. This discussion has been going on for a while with no 100% concrete answers.

i talked to a tech at gmc when i blew my motor. they were trying to slide it in under the radar, but realized by the tests they did on my truck, that gm would throw a flag immeditaely and i would have to pay for repairs

well good for gm, i wont be buying another gm diesel, who would buy one when you can buy a dodge and delete the dpf and chip it and no one cares??? If gm would build a factory truck with balls then we wouldnt be looking for chips. Stock power is boring and not enough to pull anything.

I have new LMM ECM's for $200, get it flashed for your truck and than tune that ecm leaving your original to put back in when it goes back to the dealer.

Don't you need to change the TCM too, isn't this where they find the torque increases and then nail you?

Ive been hearing that those torque values are in the 09+ TCMs. (Which he has.) But if your dropping the DPF the can see how many regans you have which could raise another flag. Ive messed with warranty crap once with Ford and after all that aggravation Ill never do that again. Something tears up now its on my money and wrench.

Umm I don't know where you got that bit of information from, but I race Supermoto with a Dodge tech and I can assure that they are declining warranty claims just like everyone else is. You gotta pay to play, and it doesn't matter what brand you play with at this point... ;)

Yah, that's right, They are all the same with the warranty issue. Duramax also has the highest HP and Tq ratings stock that Ford and Dodge...

You already sound like a Dodge guy anyways with comments like this!:D It's obvious you've not been to a Dodge dealership recently and talked with anyone that knows about denying warranties due to tuners. My brother in law gets warned every time he takes his 6.7 in not to tune it if he wants his powertrain warranty. Service manager where he gets it worked on says he's personally had to tell 3 people who deleted DPF, tuned, messed something major up, then returned to stock and tried to have Dodge pay for it, that they have no warranty, they must fix it themself. It's the same with EVERY manufacturer today, why the heck should they be responsible for people going beyond the "stock" limits that it was designed with? Pay to play! Chris
