I am trying to find a pair of new or near new Duramax diesels for my boat. Someone has a pair of brand new Duramax 6.6 tuirbodiesels that are 2002 models but are rated at 210hp or so it says on the rocker cover. The engine code is jym. Does anyone know anything about them, can the horsepower be increased.

Any help would really be appreciated.

kubcat, search for 600ft/lbs torque for airboat, get an idea what you'll need to run. computer controls needed to run. good luck

The boat is a 38ft Cigarette. Was originally designed for twin Big Blocks but before they were fitted someone bolted on a pair of smoky noisy 300hp V8 outboards on a pair of 4ft pods. Outboards are much lighter and are rated at the prop and I have no trouble keeping up with Big Block boats.

I know I have my work cut out with the electronics, but I am such a big fan of the Duramax that I just want them.

Those airboats look like a lot of fun, but I am into offshore racing, also lots of fun...
