Been starting to have long crank times to start. My batteries are dying a slow death now but you can tell if the motor is cranking fast enuff to start. I replaced my fuel filter recently and for a lil while starts in like 2secs. Now it take like 4-5 secs hot or cold. If my truck sits about 12hours the batteries are usually too low to crank the engine fast enuff and I need to jump start. Possible air in system? Possible injectors? Fuel pump? 02 withh 37k about to got on a trip tommorow just dont need problems 250 miles away. :) Driving wise doesnt cut out or seem to have a loss of power seems like it runs better after fuel filter change.
thanks

I had hard starting for months. I had my fuel filter changed. no help. then the engine would not start. the dealer fixed my engine by replacing all eight fuel injectors & my injector pump under warranty. no deductble charge. 2003 lb7 50,150 miles.

mine started getting hard to start once in awhile, changed my fuel filter out got a car quester and after that it was started right away like 1-2 secs. Then like couple days later it started getting hard to start and it got worse and worse as the day went on. Then finally no start and batteries dead. Loosen my bleeder screw and nothing comes out pump it a few times and it comes shooting out nice. Should my primer button be tight all the time after it has been primed and running? cause seems like after driving you can pump it like nothing then it gets tight again after like 5-8 pumps.

Try an OHM or ampmeter on your batteries.
If it reads 12 volts, the batteries are on their way out. A good battery should read 13.4 or 13.8 volts. (I forget)
Can you find anything that is causing a battery draw? (something left of, wired direct to battery)

One other thought is your air/fuel heater.
