Is there a good way to get the TPS is the right spot? My truck seemed like it was shifting a little late so I move the tps and it shifts good now but now the gas pedal wont go all the way to the floor, like the sensor gets turned all the way to the end.

Have you checked it out with a scan tool? It could be something else causing it to need more throttle to work correctly. The throttle position sensors do wear out also. The signal going back to the ecm/pcm should be 0-.5 volts key on engine off throttle closed[idle]. The voltage should rise with more throttle.
Grey wire is the 5 volt reference signal, Dark blue is the tps signal to ecm/pcm, Black wire is ground.
There is a proceedure to set the position using a gauge block. Check all connectors and clean grounds. Sensor ground is on the rear of the intake manifold. Without a scan tool you can only guess what is going on in the tranny.

Back when my transmission wouldnt shift I traded TPS with another truck so it probably wasnt in the same spot it was before. While I had it off I check the resistance and it did change when I moved it. Ill check these voltages tomorrow.

Set truck idle to around 675-700rpm, set TPS to 0.5-0.6v and call it a day.

Somethings not right with your throttle though, the TPS didn't jump out of the notch did it and get in a bind? The throttle should have more possible travel now if you moved the TPS in the direction to lower voltage.

Scanner would be handy if you can borrow one.

The pedal not going to the floor was the cable for the cruise control broke. I adjusted the TPS to 5.4v and I drove it down the road to pick watermelons. It shifted so smooth I never even felt the 2-3 shift. But when I came home it shifted at the high rpms. I also noticed the fuel gauge is all over the place sometimes. Im wondering if its a ground.
