Has this been done. My wife currently drives a 2005 powerstroke Excursion w/60000 miles and has given us nothing but problems and spots on the garage floor. Was planning on swapping a Cummins in its place, but before I go through with the project I would really like to know if anyone knows of a Duramax to a Superduty swap. If it has been done succesfully I want to know. I would prefer that to a cummins.

I would check with PPE for a harness first. The Cummins swap has been plenty of times. Fixing the 6.0 issues is not that hard. EGR delete and tuning will take care of most of it if you have the common 6.0 problems.

Power surging, stalls occasionally, doesn't start on occasion hot or cold. Just a little to unreliable for the wife and four kids in the winter. She's bummed because she really likes it but doesn't feel she should worry about being stranded on the side of the road in a new vehicle.

For the cost of an engine swap, I would reccomend fixing the known 6.0L issues and go from there.
