Hello all,
I have been noticeing a vibration noise in the firewall about were the hdrobooster would be located, but I can only hear it in the cab on the drivers side . It only does @ idle but in any gear. It has gotten worse now that it is getting colder outside to the point were the passanger side will rattle some times when cold. Can the hydrobooster cause this or do I need to start looking in a different direction
Thanks

not likely. Could be, but lots of other things more likely. Check the CAC pipe where it routes near the booster. It can rub there. Have somebody sit in the truck listening for the vibration, then go under the hood and start moving things around and see if you can change it. That will help pinpoint it. Any metal on metal contact could transmit vibrations

I will check the CAC. Could the down pipe be a good thing to check also

CAC - what is this?
CAC = Charge air cooler, the official manufacturer and emissions system name for what is commonly known as an intercooler.

I've got it stuck in my head that somewhere below the booster, there is a group of lines that can rub.
Flushing the system will also alleviate some of the noise, if not all. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=353950

I have really dug into everything on that side of the engine and can't see anything that would be rattling together. I tried the flushing thing but it seemed to have gotten worse. I'm leaning towards a new power steering pump.

Exhaust rubbing ?(even the stock system can be bent accidentally)
