alright so my brother in law are working on a pickup that hasn't ran in a couple years. anyways we got it started the other day and it took quite a bit of cranking to get it finally running then it was knocking and smoking and had an injector hung open. So we put in a new injector and now we have cranked on it till we're blue in the face and it will not start. It doesn't have the factory fuel filter housing as we installed an air dog 150 with lift pump so it shouldn't be that. We found some wires going to fpr broke and fixed those yesterday but it still won't run. We don't have any codes now that that's fixed except something saying wait to start light faulty something and a glow plug code. But regardless I feel this thing should start in a nice warm shop. Any suggestions?

do you smell fuel? if not possibly no prime.. Open fuel cap, loosen fuel filter bleeder screw and push prime till fuel seeps out of it. Close bleeder, close fuel cap and try starting now. If no start try 3 more times it could take a while.

it doesn't have a fuel filter housing like factory. We put in an air dog 150 dual filter w/ lift pump. I really figured the lift pump would get me all the fuel we need

we have bled out the fuel test port ..but wondered how long it would have to crank before it would bleed itself?

alright now I checked and we are getting fuel to the pump but nothing out. Checked and had 8 volts at the pump. Should it be 12 or do you think that is enough to make a difference. Looks like the used pump i got on here is no good. ugh 200 bucks down the drain
