:help2: I am not sure if this is the correct location for this but I just had a Suncaost lv 5 installed about a week ago and my truck has been down due to a possible NSBU switch problem.

Well on with the problem. Today I just backed my truck out of the garage to clean up the floor and I found a black bolt laying on the floor the truck where my tranny would have been.
The bolt is approx 2 inches long and has an "8A" stamped on the head. the end is tappered and has an indent. It is course threads, but I am not sure of the thread size.

It did have some road grime on it before I took the pictures. I am also wondering if this off of the suspension somewhere since it did have some road grime. I have not really notice any handling problems since the last time I drove it or did I notice any loud noise like somthing coming loose.
Thanks for any help on this issue.

Its the same bolt i found, while servicing my tranny. It hold the bottom plate? ( cant remember the name of it) To the tranny. Mine was just extra one. Cant see why yours would be on the ground though.

In addition to 04LLY's input also check: starter, trans mount, and cross member bolts; they all have flanged bolt heads like the one in the photo.

Well I talked with the Transmission shop that did the work and they instantly noticed that it was not a Metric bolt. I never would have guessed it by simply looking at it. And I also looked at everything again twice to make sure.
They did say that all bolts were put back in place.
I am still waiting on the UPS guy to deliver my NSBU switchCensored , but now I am at work for two weeks so the wait will continue till I figure out if that was the reason for the tranny acting like it did.

Well to put some closure on this missing bolt. I found that my starter was loose and the bolt goes to the starter mount. Installed and everything is ok now.
Question? how many bolts does the starter have to hold it on?

Thanks. I was hopeing that there were only two, becuase if there was another on the otherside it was going to be left out.
I pulled the top bolt out that was still in and it matched the missing bolt exactly.
I did not notice that one missing because the pan was in the way of seeing an empty hole.

What let me to it was after I got my tranny situation fixxed my starter started to make a grinding sound as if it was starting to go out. So I got under there and found that it was barely being held on by the top bolt.
I am very lucky that the bolt that came out fell on my garage floor and not on the road way some where. Trying to find a certain type of bolt is not easy and also when it is metric too.

Starter bolt is Metric.

The printed 8A (or any other number) is usually an indication of a metric bolt.

The 8 is also the size. 8mm=.315" Later! Frank

Starter bolt should be more like a 12mm bolt.

I can't remember for sure but it is either 13mm or 15mm. I think it is 15mm.

The bolt went right in finger tight. The other bolt that was in there was the same exact bolt as the one I found on the floor.
I am not sure if they put two different bolts on there when they installed the tranny, but The two bolts look like something that would come from a factory with a tappered end.
I added blue locktight for additional security.
