ok guys so i have been misled its a 94 chevy 6.5 ill be getting and the guy called and said that sometimes when the truck gets up to operating temp it doesent want to start...it will crank over but not start but only sometimes though....i was thinkin that it could possibly be that little black box the PMD bc it is still mounted to the ip(which if i get the truck that will be the first upgrade) but it doesnt stall out while driving? i was also thinkin ip but it doesnt spit and sputer any thoughts? again the motor and trans only have 18k on it

It can also be the LP and/or OPS.

both of those would cause it not to start when it is warm?

Alright.... Couple questions... is the truck in your possession or are you going to be purchasing it or what? First post confused me lol.

If it doesn't start sometimes when warmed up, pour a bottle of room temperature water on IP. If it starts afterward, most likely it is a worn IP. A new PMD wouldn't hurt to get either, but if it doesn't stall I'm not sure. PMDs can be touchy.

I noticed you go to UNOH, if you do please speak in complete sentences and somewhat good grammer/spelling... It makes things much easier to read. (Mainly talking about your first sentence.. lol).

lol yes i do go to UNOH...second session here and 3 more years to go Auto/diesel associates degree.....no the truck is not in my posession i will hopefully be getting it tomorrow....just waiting on the title for my truck to be sent from home, i traded my 94 7.3 idit for a nicer lookin 6.5, yea he called me today which i do give him credit for atleast letting me know, he said that sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesnt when its warm, my experiance with a 6.5 ip going was that it spit and sputterd around 2.5- 3k rpm and it doesnt do that, but i guess it doesnt always have to do that to mean its goin bad, ill try the water thing when i get it...how far are you from lima Green?

Best thing to do is probably after you get the truck, see what happens and when the problem occurs fill out the diagnostic checklist. But from what you have described it is probably either pmd or ip related. I'm not sure though...
