I Have a 2003 crew cab 4X4 durmax diesel that I would like to do some performance modifications. I have a 6 inch RCD spindle lift and 35 inch tires. I am not a speed demon, nor do I care about blowing someone away, but I have a 10,000 pound boat that I haul often and would like to improve it's performance. Other than the lift, the truck is bone stock. Which mod's should be first, exhaust, chip, airfilter??

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Jeff

You can easily add a 40-50Hp tuner without any mods at all.Im sure that will be enough to easily yank that trailer.if you want more,Id add a 4" exhaust and an intake system next.A set of guages is a great idea for anyone towing 10000lbs,boost and esp the pyrometer. If i were you id add a tuner instead of a plug in box, this way you can correct for those bigger tires and add power all in one shot.Ive had good luck with the bully dog power pups and there relatively cheap.ive had plug in boxes from both Bully dog and Edge go bad a few times, the tuners once you load the program its done.

I am stock except for my edge with attitude. I pull a 26' flat-bed trailer and haul equipment ant the like around, up to probably around 8-9k at times.

ou getI run my edge on level 2 for hauling. The extra power makes it so much easier to pull the weight.

I have no problems with high EGTs or other issues. Just remember, more power is addicting, and the more power you start pushing through the truck will mean tranny upgrades. :)

I have a 25' Skipjack that I run offshore in search of Tuna. She has a 230 horse diesel that adds a little weight. The trailer was 2,000 and the boat weighs in at 8,000. Here is a picture

I'm not into boats... but that one is sweet. I'll put it on my list when I win the lottery.LOL. Good luck, Jeff.

Hey Jeff, what do you get for tuna out there? I'll have to post some pics soon of tuna I get out here. Average 400-600lb bluefins & some pushing 1000lbs. Oh ya nice boat.

We get mostly Albacore form May to the end of year. Very few Bluefin. The Yellowfin come in with the warmer water around August and September. We also get our fair share of Dorado and Yellowtail. Last year, most of my albacore was around 25 to 40 pounds. The Yellowfin are all around the 25 to 30 pound class. We don't have anything, but sharks that are in the 200 pound plus category.
