I bought my truck used w/ about 45000 miles on it and the previous owner obviously didn’t care much about the crud build up on the underside of the truck. Any suggestions on a particular cleaner/method to use to get it looking good again?

Going to be tough

The object is to keep up on it.The waxy frame coating doesn't like a pressure washer either be careful.I suggest jacking it up take the wheels off clean up best you can and use Flat black paint.

Works for me,but I hardly drive mine in the winter. The few times I have and it was only run off I drove through mostly ,it was devastating as to the mess the salt and sand does and gets in every spot. -:t

But I'm super anal about it :D

Ditto to what Mac said, but with one exception...use a semi-gloss or satin black paint..it matches the factory better...and after you get it to where you want it...hit it with some tire foam after each wash during the spring, summer, and fall months..not only does it keep it nice and black, it offers some protection to the frame.

And like Mac...I too am super anal about my truck.

I used to have a CJ-5 Jeep and when I ran it in a swampy area I would take it home and put a lawn sprinkler under it , one that oscillates and shoots the water upward . Usally got most of the mud off or softened it enough to use a garden hose to remove the rest of it.):h

Thanks for the advice.....I've been using a brush and "Simple Green" to clean with and it's turning out to be a pain in the rear.

Well then maybe just go for the power washer and then respray the factory undercoating, or a rubberized undercoating followed by a top coat of satin black...it sounds like repainting is in order...though try some Castrol SuperClean instead of Simple Green...it seems to work tons better.
