Ok guys here's the deal. The girl friend is wanting her own duramax... she's hell bent on a new one...but I don't know everything I need to know and she's wanting to go truck shopping this Friday. What are some of the downfalls to the new LMM's and LML's if any. I know she's gonna want to start modding her's as she loves mine and the black smoke that comes with it. She's also into horses and showing so she'll be pulling a trailer as well. Any help would be great.... also I have turned her from the dark side. she used to be a powerjoke girl.:D

Downfalls - The Dam price of these things and the costs to mod them. I've got 28k miles on the truck & knock on wood a "service engine light" hasn't even gone off yet.
if the ole lady is powerstroke girl, then she'll notice alot less trips to the service dept. Tell her to get the Duramax! :)

The LML's got more emissions garbage for instance urea injection, if the urea runs out completly the truck goes into limp mode or something a long that line than the LMM's like the guy said above the cost of these trucks is insane:eek: my LMM has been modded and trouble free for 37,000+ miles knock on wood:D

I would try and talk her into an 07 or older Duramax. Such as an LBZ or LLY with low miles. It would be a lot easier on the pocket when it comes to modifying the truck (tuner, exhaust, ect) and you will save a bundle on buying a slightly used truck vs. a brand new one.

yeah I tired that, she thinks they're ugly and wants a "new" one. But I think once we do some price shopping she'll see it my way... plus if she get's an LLY I have tons of spare crap laying around from my truck.

haha yeah well now there looking more attractive once we started the price shopping... but yeah she's figured out she want's a black crew cab 4x4 with charcoal interior. she's not to happy with most that we find over a 100,000.... she's used to gassers and it's hard to convince her it's just broke in at that mileage. But she's coming around slowly. but yeah she's a keeper for sure.
