my trucks starter was working perfectly, yesterday it started right up today it acted like the batteries were dead so I got my multimeter and one battery was 12.62 and the other was 12.35volts and I have 24volts going to the starter. It just seems weird that it would crank hard one day and dead to the world the next.my 12volt conversion might start sooner than planed

Nevermind, I now realize you were not talking about your duramax.

Sorry.

Could be as simple as bad contacts inside of the starter solenoid. Usually you can take the cover off the solenoid and turn the post around.

I'm not sure, but I think the CUCV 24v system had a starter solenoid of some sort seperate from the starter as well. You might want to locate the TM's and take a look. I think that it was to take the 12v start signal and 'convert' it to 24v for the starter.

I could be wrong, I thought that I was right once before.... but I was wrong then too.
